Steam Cleaners – Choosing Accessories

Steam Cleaner Accessories
Steam cleaners require certain accessories for different cleaning tasks. To remove dirt and stains, they use the heat of steam to melt deposits of dirt, chemicals, soap, and other residues. Once the dirt is no longer attached to the surface below, it can be removed using detailing accessories.

The most important accessories are the brushes and towels available for steam cleaners. Microfiber towels, composed of fine fibers of polypropylene, are extremely strong. They have other advantages: these towels can soak in large amounts of water, oil, and similar liquids, leaving the surface cleaner than regular wipes. Microfiber towels are also lint free and do not leave behind any traces of fabric.

Detailing brushes are used either manually or attached to the steam hose of steam cleaners. These brushes can be used to agitate and loosen stubborn residues. The most common types of detailing brushes are nylon, brass, and stainless steel. Nylon brushes are the softest and should be used on surfaces that can be scratched easily by harder brushes, such as metal. Stainless steel brushes are the hardest, and they are best for use on hard surfaces such as concrete, granite, and tiles. Brass brushes, with intermediate strength, should be used where stainless steel brushes can damage the surface and nylon brushes do not provide adequate cleaning pressure. Squeegees, attached to wands, should be used for cleaning glass surfaces. Steel wool can scrape grease off a number of surfaces as well.

In addition to these detailing brushes, towels, and squeegee attachments, Daimer® also provides brushes of different shapes and sizes for specific cleaning requirements. These include a triangular brush for cleaning corners, a plunger for sinks, steam scraper, large sized floor brush, and a round detailing brush. Daimer® cleaning accessories are offered at a lower price than most other cleaning suppliers, and therefore save you money in the end.
